Athletics Carnival 2024
The athletics carnival was filled with excitement, sportsmanship, and remarkable performances. Students from different schools are divided into 2 houses Elegan Golden Eagle (Gold/Yellow team) and Racing White Rhinos (White team) and competed in various track and field events, showcasing their skills, determination, and team spirit. The athletics carnival was a resounding success, thanks to the hard work and dedication of the organizers, volunteers, and participants. The day fostered camaraderie, highlighted talent, and created lasting memories for everyone involved. Here are some highlights.
HIGHLIGHTS
Opening
The event started with a vibrant opening ceremony featuring a parade of houses, each showcasing their unique colors and mascots. The atmosphere was electric with cheers and enthusiastic support from the crowd
Track Events:
Sprints: The 100m and 200m races were fiercely contested, with standout performances from Samuel of Racing White Rinos, who broke the existing record.
Field Events:
Long Jump and High Jump: Exceptional performances were witnessed in the long jump and high jump events. Lucas and Miguel were setting a new personal best.
Shot Put and Discus:
Strength and technique were on full display during the shot put and discus events. Natasha, and Befrato of Golden demonstrated remarkable power, winning both events.
Team Spirit and Sportsmanship
The unwavering support and encouragement from all participants and spectators embodied the spirit of the carnival. The sportsmanship shown by all houses was commendable, creating a positive and inclusive environment.
Special Awards
Racing White Rhinos emerged as the overall house champion, accumulating the highest points across all events. The day concluded with a heartfelt closing ceremony where the winning houses and athletes were celebrated. Ribbons and trophies were awarded by the Principal who praised the efforts and achievements of all participants.
