MIS DP Students Shine at ASEAN Day: Youth, Friendship, and Sustainability
MIS DP students recently had the privilege to participate in the ASEAN Day celebration in Medan, joining a select group of invited schools alongside consuls, country representatives, local authorities, and government officials.
The event carried the theme of Inclusivity and Sustainability, highlighting how every member nation—big or small—plays a vital role in shaping the future of ASEAN. At MIS, we believe that our students, as future leaders, must contribute meaningfully to this mission.
We were especially inspired by the words of Mr. Shahril Nizam, the Consul General of Malaysia in Medan, who reminded us of the responsibility we carry as ASEAN youth to promote peace and collaboration. The Governor of Sumatra’s Representative also encouraged us to see ASEAN Day not just as a ceremonial gathering, but as a momentum to strengthen community spirit and friendship across cultures.
MIS continues to embody these values through our commitment to sustainable habits and active support for the UN Sustainable Development Goals in all aspects of school life. This vision came alive during the ASEAN Day celebration, which also featured a lively Kahoot! quiz. We are proud to share that our very own Rayni won 3rd place out of more than 130 participants!
The day ended warmly, as our Principal shared lunch with the DP students—a moment to bond, reflect, and encourage them for a successful year ahead. It was truly a day filled with fun, friendship, and inspiration.
