INDOFEST is BACK!

Indofest is returning to MIS after a break of three years. Indofest is a schoolwide celebration of Indonesian culture. Our theme this year is “Unity in Diversity”. Indofest is scheduled from October 2nd to October 6th. We will have craftspeople on our campus Monday, Tuesday, and Friday from 9:00 am – 1:00 pm. Students will get to learn about traditional crafts from our guests. Parents are invited to come visit, too. Students will also be served traditional snacks and drinks during our morning snack period on Monday, Tuesday, and Friday. The highlight of the week will be on Thursday night (Oct. 5) when we hold our Indofest Celebration in the gym at 6:00 pm. Each class has worked with Ibu Ruth Hertami Dyah Nugrahaningsih, M.Si., Ph.D, to prepare a dance to share. She is a lecturer at Universitas Negeri Medan in the Language and Art Department, and she has worked with our school for many years. We are also thankful for her assistants, Adnan Aziz and Reza Ade Putra, who are current students in the university. We will also have a staff dance and a parent dance.  We will feature songs from our PYP and MYP students and from our Choir CCA. After the performance, we will all sit down to eat together. Each family is asked to provide an Indonesian dish to share. I look forward to seeing you all there.
