Family Dance Night!
(through the PYP 3-4 perspective)
The night of Friday, November 8th was our big event. Our first job was to choose a song. Then we had to decide on our costumes. Then, practice, practice, practice!
Mr. Ryan and Mr. Stevan thought the biggest challenge was getting started. “At first, it seemed like we would never be able to memorize the steps” they thought. In particular, River felt that the back-step was really hard. Myra struggled with the turn-around part of the dance routine.
Lucas and Afiq felt the whole dance routine was very confusing and Alexia was worried that she would never finish memorizing it in time.
But then, something happened!
After practicing very hard for a few days, “the dance routine got easier!” said Matt. Vito really enjoyed the clapping part of the dance and Aryan felt that it was very exciting to have the whole audience dance with us. Shasha felt that it was a huge success.
The moral of this story is that some things can seem overwhelming at first. But, with hard work, a positive attitude and lots of practice, we can achieve our goals.
It’s safe to say that our class had a great time at Family Dance Night! It is an event that we will remember forever!
Yours Truly,
Mr. Ryan, Mr. Stevan & The students of PYP 3-4
