Clay Art: Rolling, Pinching, Creating!
Our young artists have been busy getting their hands messy and their imaginations working during our exciting clay art unit! Students explored different hand-building techniques such as pinching, coiling, and slab building to create their own unique sculptures. From eyes and gargoyles, each clay piece has uniqueness, characters, and shows the creativity of its maker. The classroom was filled with focus, laughter, and the joy of bringing ideas to life through touch and texture.
The goal of this unit was to help students learn how to shape and form clay while expressing their thoughts and interests through art. Along the way, they developed fine motor skills, practiced patience, and learned the importance of planning and problem-solving in the artistic process. More importantly, they experienced the joy of making something with their own two hands. We are so proud of their hard work and can’t wait to share their wonderful clay creations with you!
