MIS provides an enriched international curriculum using the International Baccalaureate as a framework taught in the English language for eligible students of all nationalities.

Students entering the school in Grade 2 and up will complete an entrance exam in Reading Comprehension, Math and Writing. It is a shortened version of our adaptive assessment (the MAP exam). Students who are three or more grade levels behind the grade they are applying for may be denied admission. MIS does not employ a teacher specialized in children with special educational needs (SEN). However, our teachers have broad experience working with children with many different learning needs. We will evaluate each student on a case by case basis. If you have recommendations from a learning specialist, please bring in the paperwork so we can determine how to best work with your child.

Students applying for grades 9-10 should have academic English ability in order to complete more challenging coursework.

MIS does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, gender, religion, sexual orientation and national or ethnic origin.

Age Criteria

Students enrolling in our Early Childhood program shall be three (3) years old and potty trained at the time of enrollment.

Students entering Reception (Kindergarten) shall be five (5) years old on or before Oct. 1st. Entrance ages for other grades are based on a student's age as of Oct. 1st as well as academic records.

MIS strongly recommends that students coming from southern hemisphere schools (Jan. - Dec. Calendars) repeat a semester of their current grade rather than skip a semester of the next grade. Each case will be decided individually.

The following table should serve as a guideline for students enrolling during the 2016-2017 school year

The Pembina advises that the following fees will apply for the 2017-2018 School Year. For new students, there is a registration fee of Rp 26,600K which is paid only once for the entire period of schooling at MIS and is non-transferable. This is paid for any student entering MIS at K3 or above and does not need to be paid at the K1 and K2 levels. The school fee for the 2017/2018 school year increases by 2% on the previous year. The Capital Fee and the Registration Fee remain the same.

In accordance with Indonesian law, all prices and payments within Indonesia must now be made in Indonesian Rupiah. As such, we are converting all our fees to Rupiah based on the current rate. The rate calculated below is stated based on an exchange rate of 1 USD = 13,358 IDR and the increase of 2% to the previous year's tuition fee. Please note that the current rupiah fees are based on this exchange rate and may be updated for the payment period from July 1st - December 31st if there is a major fluctuation in the US dollar.

The Tuition Fee is a mandatory annual fee representing the cost of delivering instruction to enrolled students.

The Capital Fee is a mandatory annual fee that is applied to the development of the school's infrastructure and facilities.

MIS requires that all students complete the Application for Admission.

Students applying for Grades 2-10 will be administered an entrance exam upon arrival at MIS. The exam is primarily for information for the teachers, but in some cases students with scores three grade levels or more below the grade he or she is applying for will be denied admission. Although MIS teachers differentiate in the classroom, we do not have a specialist for special needs education on staff.

The following documents are required by the Indonesian government for both Indonesian and Expatriate students:
  • A scanned copy of passports (cover page, picture page, vital information page, expiration date, and current visa page) of student and both parents; the original must be present at the time of submission of the application or upon arrival prior to admissions
  • A scanned copy of the student's birth certificate; the original must be present at the time of submission of the application or upon arrival prior to admissions
  • A scanned copy of the KITAS (Limited Stay Permit) for student and both parents; the original must be present for verification. If the KITAS is in process, a letter from the sponsoring company (employer) is required stating this and then the original KITAS must be present within 30 days of enrolment. Diplomatic and Dinas visa holders must provide a scanned copy of the passport and the current visa pages
  • Two (2) photographs of the applicant (4X6 cm). Color photos should have a red background (passport-size)
  • A scanned copy of Parent's Identity Card and Kartu Keluarga (For Indonesian Families)
  • An affidavit from the parents stating that the student will not seek employment
  • A letter of financial guarantee from the parent or sponsor
  • Academic Records

A minimum of two (2) years of the most recent school records (where the student is old enough to possess them), showing courses taken and results. School records from non-English speaking schools which are officially translated into English would be preferable.
  • Letter from previous school stating dates of attendance and reason for leaving the school
  • Copy of your child's immunization record

Supplies, Dress and Transportation

All books and supplies are provided at no additional cost. There is no student uniform at MIS. Each student is provided one PE shirt upon enrollment. Additional shirts may be purchased from the office. Students will need a swimsuit, goggles and towel for our swimming program.

Students are required to have access to a computer with an internet connection at home. MYP students are required to bring an iPad to school each day. MIS will help set up the iPad and download school apps. Some students also choose to bring a laptop. Students in Grades 4 and up will be issued a school e-mail account and will be expected to access and use Google Tools for Education.

MIS does not have its own transportation service. However, we have contracted two vehicles to pick up students and take them home. Parents choosing this service pay the costs of this service.
